Changes to Microsoft Conferences

Why We’re Not Exhibiting at Envision 2016

There’s been a change in the Microsoft conferences this year, specifically Convergence. In the past, this has been an event that we’ve attended, sponsored, and invested in to great success (see here and here.) However, this year, Microsoft has rebranded the event and it is now called Envision. It targets C-level executives and key business decision makers. The conference seeks to help business leaders to understand new technology and how they can take advantage of the evolving business landscape;  it aims to focus on the insights and strategies from various Microsoft channels.

What does this mean for Digital Vantage Point?

Previously, Convergence has been explicitly about the Microsoft Dynamics channel for users, VARs, and ISVs. The transition to Envision has moved from Dynamics to a more high-level business leadership within all of Microsoft, attracting a different audience. Dynamics Communities has recently announced that there will be an event called DayONE. This will be held Sunday, April 3rd, from 9am to 5pm. Find out more here. This is an opportunity for Dynamics users and partners to learn and network.

Digital Vantage Point builds eCommerce solutions exclusively for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. With specific focus and dedication to the NAV channel, we want to look for events that have the same focus and concentrate our efforts there. We aim to cater to NAV users with eCommerce needs; the segment to which we can market is very small at a large conference like Envision. This shift in direction has unfortunately led us to the decision to not exhibit this year. However, we will be watching this event carefully to determine our participation in 2017.

Which conferences will we be attending and exhibiting?

As a company that deals specifically with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, we love any opportunity to engage with partners and customers who are active in the NAV channel, no matter what industry. We create integrated eCommerce solutions for a wide range of business models and customer needs. Our philosophy is simple and revolves around integration to NAV technology and streamlined, meaningful user experiences. Extending our philosophy to how we approach conferences, here are the ones we’re attending and/or exhibiting at this year:

Directions US and Directions EMEA – We exhibit at these NAV partner events every year. These events are a great way for us to network and strengthen our business relationships in the US and in Europe. Working side by side with excellent NAV partners  and customers worldwide, we share ideas on how to increase the value of our offering.

NAVUG Summit – This conference is incredibly focused on NAV end users. In addition to showcasing our integrated eCommerce solution suite, we will get the chance to glean insight from NAV users in a variety of industries and how they use NAV.

NAVUG Summit is in Tampa, Florida from October 11-14.

  • WPC is in Toronto, Ontario from July 10-14.

NAV Tech Days – This event is organized by mibuso.com (Microsoft Business Solutions). Designed with the NAV developer in mind, this conference is all about the technology. We don’t attend this event every year but we like to make the trip every once in a while to better our software offering and stay on top of trends. If you’re passionate about NAV and the technical aspect, this is the one to attend.
