See Configurator in Action

The customer journey on an eCommerce website, from awareness to purchase, can be complex. There are several key moments and interactions that can influence a shopper to buy. Sometimes when there is too much information available, it is easy to lose focus which may result in a diminished shopping experience and loss of sale.

A product configurator can greatly improve the buying experience, whether in B2B (manufacturing and engineering  for example) or B2C (like a customized fashion piece). Configurators are useful in streamlining the buying process, from individual personalization of items to tailoring to unique business needs. Product configurators also seek to educate and inform buyers through a series of steps and questions; it presents relevant product information, upsells, and through the use of exclusions, helps show customers what is available or not depending on their previous selections.

Nav-to-Net™ Configurator is seamlessly integrated to NAV as it is built in NAV. This bring the business user and customers many benefits, such as increased reliability and real-time updates. Check out our overview video.

Some video highlights:

Look and Feel: Branding needs can be met with stylesheets and various layout options. This can all be done without any coding for your ultimate convenience.

Setting up Configurator: The set up and management of Configurator is very simple and easily manipulated. Note the hierarchy in Configurator and how quickly you can add new steps, questions, and options.

Here’s a tip: When building Configurator, be mindful of the 3 distinct levels and work backwards starting with the Options. For example, your option could be  a round cut diamond. The question in order to get that option is “What cut?” This is encompassed in the “4 C’s of a Diamond” step.

Content Management: Using the same built-in document management tools and MLTB of Nav-to-Net™ eCommerce solutions, Configurator allows users to pick and choose where to add or modify content on every level. Users can also add corresponding images at every level.

Setting up Exclusions: Exclusions in Configurator allow you to control what the shopper can or cannot see based on previous selections. This minimizes the amount of back and forth communications, re-orders and shipping delays (if the product isn’t exactly right), and the customer will not be misled or disappointed in a product or feature that isn’t in fact available.

Responsive Design: Configurator, like all Nav-to-Net™ solutions, is built with Responsive Design so shoppers can access it from any device, be it desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
